Welcome to Bohmian-Mechanics.net

This is the homepage of the international research network on Bohmian Mechanics that was started in the 1980s by Prof. Dr. Detlef Dürr, Prof. Dr. Sheldon Goldstein and Prof. Dr. Nino Zanghì.

Bohmian Mechanics (also called de Broglie-Bohm theory or pilot-wave theory) is the natural theory of the motion of particles in quantum mechanics. It yields in measurement situations the same probabilistic results as predicted by the statistical formalism of quantum mechanics. Bohmian Mechanics provides a consistent and complete description and thus an explanation of all quantum phenomena.

With great sadness we report that Detlef Dürr has passed away on January 3, 2021. He was a co-founder of our research group, a great inspiration and a dear friend to all of us. He will be dearly missed.
